I have been making toys for over 50 years. I got my start at a young age making trucks, forts and battleships out of scrap wood with the help of an older brother. I had improved my craft by the time I made trucks and buildings for my own children. Now that I am a grandfather, I have both the time and experience to make even better quality toys.
A LARGE portion of our wood supply is taken from the "scrap pile" of industry. All of us here at Black Bear Toys feel that we further honor the trees by using this rescued wood, and it helps keep the price down.
The wood is finished with tung oil finish the same as commonly used for salad bowls
